Elevate Economic Pathways is a Blackstreet Foundation initiative designed to equip youth and young adults with the financial knowledge, career exposure, mentorship and entrepreneurial skills they need to build successful and economically secure futures. Building on Blackstreet Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment, the program creates a practical pathway from education and mentorship to employment, entrepreneurship and long-term financial independence. WHAT THE PROGRAM OFFERS Financial Literacy & Wealth Building Participants develop practical financial skills including budgeting, banking, credit management, saving, investing, taxation and responsible financial decision-making. Career Exploration & Readiness Young people gain exposure to professionals, employers and career opportunities across finance, technology, healthcare, government, skilled trades, entrepreneurship and professional services. Mentorship Participants connect with professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders who provide guidance, career insights and encouragement as they navigate education, employment and entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship Aspiring entrepreneurs learn the fundamentals of turning ideas into sustainable businesses, including business planning, pricing, marketing, financial management and accessing opportunities. Digital & AI Skills Participants explore emerging technologies and learn practical ways to use digital tools and artificial intelligence responsibly for education, employment, productivity and entrepreneurship. Leadership Development Workshops and community activities help participants strengthen communication, teamwork, networking, presentation and leadership skills. WHO WE SERVE Elevate Economic Pathways is designed primarily for youth and young adults, with particular emphasis on creating opportunities for individuals from underserved, newcomer and economically vulnerable communities. OUR GOAL We want young people to leave the program with more than inspiration. They should leave with knowledge, relationships, practical skills and a clearer pathway toward education, employment, entrepreneurship and financial independence. The Canadian SME Trade Resilience & Global Markets Hub is a Blackstreet Foundation economic-development initiative designed to help small and medium-sized businesses strengthen their operations, navigate changing global trade conditions and identify new opportunities in Canada and international markets. Global trade is changing rapidly. Tariffs, supply-chain disruptions, rising input costs and dependence on a limited number of suppliers or customers can create significant challenges for small businesses. For many SMEs, accessing specialized market intelligence, technology, financial expertise and international networks can also be difficult. The Global Markets Hub is being developed to help close that gap. WHAT WE SUPPORT Trade & Business Resilience Businesses can strengthen their understanding of risks related to suppliers, customers, costs, logistics and changing international trade conditions. Market Diversification We help businesses explore opportunities to expand beyond their existing customer base and identify potential domestic and international markets. Export Readiness Entrepreneurs and SMEs can access practical education and resources covering international market entry, export planning, pricing, distribution, documentation and global business development. Supply-Chain Diversification Businesses can explore alternative suppliers, sourcing strategies and partnerships that reduce dependence on a single market or supply chain. Financial Resilience Programming helps entrepreneurs strengthen cash-flow planning, pricing, profitability analysis, financial forecasting and business decision-making. Digital Transformation Businesses are introduced to technologies that can improve productivity and competitiveness, including artificial intelligence, enterprise and financial systems, e-commerce, business automation, data and analytics, digital financial management, and inventory and supply-chain technology. Global Market Connections The Hub aims to create connections between Canadian businesses and international markets, with particular interest in emerging opportunities across Africa and other high-growth global markets.
