Volunteer Role Descriptions
Campaign Coordinator (Nigeria Lead)
Reports to: Project Director / Blackstreet Foundation
Location: Abeokuta North (Hybrid)
Main Purpose: Provide overall leadership, coordination, and implementation oversight of the WAEC Hope Project in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all campaign activities locally (volunteer meetings, logistics, and school visits).
- Liaise with local schools, education authorities, and community leaders.
- Ensure project goals, timelines, and quality standards are met.
- Supervise other volunteers and report progress weekly to the foundation.
- Represent the campaign at public or media engagements.
Ideal Candidate: A responsible, organized person passionate about education, preferably residing in Abeokuta or Ogun State.
Fundraising & Partnerships Lead
Reports to:Campaign Coordinator
Main Purpose: Drive fundraising efforts and build partnerships with individuals, alumni, and corporate sponsors to reach the ₦5 million target.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies (alumni drive, crowdfunding, corporate outreach).
- Maintain donor relationships and ensure regular communication.
- Identify and engage churches, companies, and philanthropists as partners.
- Coordinate fundraising events or online campaigns.
- Work with the Finance Officer to ensure transparent donation tracking.
Ideal Candidate: Persuasive communicator with strong networking and relationship skills.
Communications & Media Lead
Reports to: Campaign Coordinator
Main Purpose: Create visibility for the campaign through storytelling, branding, and social media engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the campaign’s social media platforms (Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, X).
- Design and share flyers, posters, and infographics.
- Write press releases, donor thank-you posts, and success stories.
- Document campaign milestones through photos, videos, and short reports.
- Promote the campaign hashtag and ensure consistent messaging.
Ideal Candidate: Creative, tech-savvy volunteer with experience in social media, design, or communications.
Finance & Transparency Officer
Reports to:Blackstreet Foundation Treasurer / Campaign Coordinator
Main Purpose: Ensure accurate, transparent, and accountable management of all campaign funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and reconcile all donations and expenses.
- Maintain a transparent Google Sheet or ledger accessible to project leads.
- Issue receipts or acknowledgments to donors.
- Prepare periodic financial reports for the Foundation.
- Support external audits or verification if needed.
Ideal Candidate: Trustworthy individual with accounting or finance background (CPA, student accountant, or business graduate preferred).
School Liaison Officers (2–3 Volunteers)
Reports to: Campaign Coordinator
Main Purpose: Identify, verify, and maintain contact with selected students and schools in Abeokuta North.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with principals, teachers, and local education officers.
- Identify students in need through transparent selection criteria.
- Collect necessary data (names, WAEC registration details, guardians’ consent).
- Coordinate the distribution of sponsorship funds or materials.
- Monitor students’ progress and document impact stories.
Ideal Candidate: Local volunteer familiar with the Abeokuta North community or public school system.
Volunteer Mobilizers
Reports to:Fundraising Lead / Communications Lead
Main Purpose: Spread awareness, attract donors, and recruit additional volunteers and ambassadors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Share campaign materials within alumni groups, churches, and social circles.
- Encourage “Sponsor a Student” pledges.
- Organize mini community events or WhatsApp drives to raise funds.
- Keep a record of people referred or donations generated through their effort.
Ideal Candidate: Energetic, social, and persuasive person who enjoys connecting people to causes.
