Scholarship Qualification Criteria
The Lanre Ojelabi (LEO) Scholarship (2026) through the Black Street Foundation Scholarship is awarded to deserving students who demonstrate academic excellence, personal integrity, and a strong commitment to their education. To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Recent Academic Excellence
- Applicant must have strong academic results from their most recent school term or academic year.
- Report cards, test results, or equivalent academic records must be submitted with the application.
Financial Need
- Applicant’s parents or guardians must be genuinely unable to afford NECO registration fees.
- A short personal statement explaining the family’s financial situation is required.
Good Standing in School
- Applicant must be in good disciplinary standing with no serious infractions or suspensions.
- Active engagement in school activities and respectful conduct are expected.
Endorsement from a Sponsor/Referee
- Each applicant must be endorsed by a credible sponsor or referee (e.g., a teacher, principal, school counselor, religious leader, or mentor).
- The sponsor must be able to vouch for the applicant’s academic ability, character, and commitment.
- Sponsor contact information must be provided for verification.
Personal Commitment to Success
- Applicants must show a genuine commitment to studying hard and following through with WAEC exam preparation.
- Selected candidates must be ready to make the most of the scholarship opportunity.
Willingness to Inspire Others
- Successful applicants must be willing to share their journey (through the use of photo, short stories, testimonials, or videos) with the Black Street Foundation to inspire other students.
- Successful applicants automatically give the Black Street Foundation or associated parties the right to use their images and information to inspire others and create awareness on their activities.
